Pleats, The most standard way to end a sleeve into a cuff. Pleats throw fullness to the outer side of the sleeve, allowing movement locally at the elbow. The size of the pleat is determined by the size of the cuff.
Gathered, Rather than pleats that throw the fullness to one side a gather is an even distribution of the fullness around the cuff. This is more technically difficult but creates an even and cleaner looking sleeve.
